The 2025 LTPL Summer Reading Challenge is in the books! (we’re nothing if not punny)
Hurray for the 1,236 people who signed up for our 2025 Summer Reading Challenge! We set a new record with 44 more individuals than last year!
Together, you logged more than 1.5 MILLION minutes of reading! That’s more than 25,000 hours!
“WAY TO GO!” to the record breaking 603 Summer Reading Champions, who reached 1000 points and earned a T-shirt or mug completion reward. This is an amazing 49% of registrants, the highest percentage and most ever (81 more people than in 2024)! Speaking of shirts and mugs, we have submitted our orders and are anxiously waiting for delivery in the next few weeks. As soon as they come in, we will sort them by family and contact you to arrange pickup. Thanks for your patience!
A HUGE “Thank You!” to McDonalds of New Hudson for rewarding the 348 kids and 122 teens who reached the halfway goal of 500 points/minutes. That is a lot of Happy Meals and Free Soft Serve Cones! (Also “Great Job!” to the 248 adults who also reached 500 points!)
An ENORMOUS “Thank You!” to Vibe Credit Union, who supports our Summer Reading Challenge every year with a generous $500 sponsorship!
An GIGANTIC “Thank You!” to Benito’s of South Lyon for rewarding all 649 people who earned 750 points with a Free Benito’s Cheese Personal Pan Pizza or Salad!
A MASSIVE “Thank You!” goes out to the Friends of the Lyon Township Public Library, who sponsored three of our major events this summer, Drummunity, Dan the Creature Man, and Baffling Bill the Magician. We couldn’t offer all the amazing programs to our community without the support of the Friends!
“Thank You!” as well to Biggby Coffee of New Hudson, Oakland County Parks and Recreation, and Texas Roadhouse, who supplied us with lemonade and games at our Summer Kickoff and coupons to reward young readers!
