The Lyon Township Friends of the Library periodically hold used book sales. These are our most important fundraisers for raising money to assist the library with new fixtures, books, programming, and other needs.
We accept donations of used books in good condition, but cannot accept text books, encyclopedias or magazines. Any items that are yellow, torn, moldy or dirty will not be accepted.
Be part of something exciting and make a difference at your library! In the past years, the Friends have supported many library endeavors including: fundraising via book sales, the Accessories Bazaar and the BOOzaar. They have purchased a flat screen TV for our library marketing display, helped put on Family Fun Day, contributed for the Neighborhood Library Association’s author visit, have donated magazine subscriptions to the library, and have funded our ability to provide ebooks to our customers.

Adopt A Book Program
Your donation of $25 allows the library to purchase a book to help in our continuing quest to develop an outstanding library collection that meets the needs of the Lyon Township community. All Adopt-A-Book donations are tax deductible. You may choose the book yourself or let us choose a book for you. A commemorative bookplate on the book provides an excellent opportunity for you to honor individuals, family members or friends. You can also choose to remain anonymous. Adopt A Magazine Program
The Lyon Township Public Library offers over 100 magazines in a wide range of topics for all ages. The rising cost of providing these publications is challenging in the face of budget cuts. Adopting magazine subscriptions helps the library provide more of the materials that our customers enjoy. A monthly magazine can be sponsored for $25 a year, or $100 a year will cover a weekly subscription. Your name or business name can be displayed prominently on the magazine that you sponsor, or you can choose to remain anonymous. Your contribution is tax deductible in the year of the payment as an itemized deduction, and also qualifies for a Michigan income tax credit. Click the link to the right to download a program form.
