What Can We Help You Find?

Kroger Community Rewards

Enroll in the Kroger Community Rewards program, and you can help the Lyon Township Public Library every time you shop!  We joined the program in 2015 and every check has been bigger than the last, but we need you to re-enroll to continue receiving FREE MONEY! A Kroger Plus Card is required to participate, get one at the customer service desk at any Kroger store. Register your card at krogercommunityrewards.com. by clicking on “Sign In” or create an account. Most participants are new online customers, so they must click “Create an Account”. After creating an account, add your Kroger card to your account. Click on “Edit Kroger Community Rewards Information” and input your Kroger Plus card number. Update or confirm your information. Enter the NPO number RL870 and select “Friends of the Lyon Township Public Library”, then click “submit”. Purchases will not count for our group until after you register your card. If you use your phone number at the register, call 877-576-7587 to get your Kroger Plus Card number

We will be choosing the dates for our 2023 Book Sales!

The Lyon Township Friends of the Library periodically hold used book sales.  These are our most important fundraisers for raising money to assist the library with new fixtures, books, programming, and other needs.

We accept donations of used books in good condition, but cannot accept text books, encyclopedias or magazines. Any items that are yellow, torn, moldy or dirty will not be accepted.

Be part of something exciting and make a difference at your library!  In the past years, the Friends have supported many library endeavors including:  fundraising via book sales, the Accessories Bazaar and the BOOzaar.  They have purchased a flat screen TV for our library marketing display, helped put on Family Fun Day, contributed for the Neighborhood Library Association’s author visit, have donated magazine subscriptions to the library, and have funded our ability to provide ebooks to our customers.

Adopt A Book/Magazine

Adopt A Book Program

Your donation of $25 allows the library to purchase a book to help in our continuing quest to develop an outstanding library collection that meets the needs of the Lyon Township community.  All Adopt-A-Book donations are tax deductible.  You may choose the book yourself or let us choose a book for you.  A commemorative bookplate on the book provides an excellent opportunity for you to honor individuals, family members or friends.  You can also choose to remain anonymous.  Click the link to the right to download a program form.

Adopt A Magazine Program

The Lyon Township Public Library offers over 100 magazines in a wide range of topics for all ages.  The rising cost of providing these publications is challenging in the face of budget cuts.  Adopting magazine subscriptions helps the library provide more of the materials that our customers enjoy.  A monthly magazine can be sponsored for $25 a year, or $100 a year will cover a weekly subscription.  Your name or business name can be displayed prominently on the magazine that you sponsor, or you can choose to remain anonymous.  Your contribution is tax deductible in the year of the payment as an itemized deduction, and also qualifies for a Michigan income tax credit.  Click the link to the right to download a program form.

You can help the Library by donating books, music, and movies that are recent and in good condition. All donated items become the property of the Library and cannot be returned to the donor. Items not needed by the Library may be given to the Friends of the Library for their use.

Donations should be dropped off during library operating hours, and cannot be left outside the building when the library is closed.

We are unable to accept:

  • magazines
