Building AccessThe building is open to checkout materials and use public computers. Holds may still be made on materials, and scheduled for curbside pickup.

Is the library open to the public?

The library is open to checkout materials and use public computers.

When can I pick up library items?

Items placed on hold can be picked up by curbside pickup in the north foyer of the library, or at the Circulation Desk. Pickup is available Monday through Thursday, 10:00am-8:30pm, and Friday & Saturday, 10:00am-4:30pm.

How can I borrow more items?

Browse our catalog or call (248)437-8800 to make a curbside pickup appointment to pick up LTPL library items that you have placed on hold

I didn’t pick up my holds curbside on time, what happens?

We can reschedule your pickup time to a later date.

Holds are held for seven days. Once that time period passes, we put the library items back into circulation for the community.

How do I know about library updates?

Can I make a book donation?

Yes! We are accepting any book donations at this time.

How can I print or fax?

You may print at the library on our public computers or by connecting your mobile device to our LTPL Print wireless network. Our fax machine is available with staff assistance. On request, we can print or fax items that are emailed to: ltplprint@gmail.com with instructions. 

Is the Community Center open?

The Community Center is being used for virtual programming. We are not scheduling private use at this time.

Curbside Pickup Appointments

You are able to pick up library materials from the North Foyer, on the right side entrance of the library building. All holds are placed in a bag, labeled with your first initial and last name, and alphabetically sorted.

Please remain patient as we provide curbside pickup to everyone requesting library items.

Returns, Renewals, Holds, & Fines


You can return checked out items by placing them in the return bins in the north foyer, the main drop off box in front of the library entrance, or at the Circulation Desk.

You can return items borrowed from other TLN system libraries at LTPL.

Renew an item

If your checked out items are not on hold by another customer, they will automatically renew. You can also renew items by logging into your library account, or by calling us at (248)437-8800

Placing a Hold


LTPL is a fine-free library

During the library’s State-mandated closure, library cardholders did not accrue any fines from LTPL. All due dates were extended as Federal and State Executive orders were issued or updated/extended.

COVID-19 Precautions

Library COVID-19 Preparedness & Response Plan


All unvaccinated visitors are asked to wear masks while in the building, and we can provide you with a mask if you do not have one.

Sanitation and Disinfecting

A cleaning crew regularly cleans the building once a day, at night.

Staff have disinfectant to use on library materials and equipment throughout the day

Disinfectant wipes and gel dispensers have been installed throughout the building for the public .

Social Distancing

Library guests are asked to observe the recommended 6 feet apart for social distancing.

All of our library programs/events are Virtual until September 2021.

We are using Zoom to livestream our events/presentations. To join, register for a specific event and you will receive the Zoom link.

Storytimes- are every Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30am. They are livestreamed through Facebook Live on our Facebook page @LTPLMI

Please do not return Mobile Hotspots in the return boxes/cans.
